As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and ecological restoration, Community Partnership for Health and Development (CPHD) carried out impactful activities in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and climate resilience.

Tree Planting Exercise at Akwidaa

In a bid to combat deforestation and restore degraded ecosystems, CPHD organized a tree planting exercise at Akwidaa, engaging community members, youth groups, and local leaders in the planting of indigenous and climate-resilient tree species.
This activity forms a key part of CPHD’s Ecological Restoration and Conservation Agenda, focused on:

  • Enhancing biodiversity

  • Reducing the effects of soil erosion

  • Supporting climate adaptation efforts at the grassroots level

Climate Change Education & Awareness

CPHD also led a series of Climate Change Education and Awareness Activities across the Ahanta West Municipality to build knowledge and encourage action on climate issues. These sessions targeted schools, community groups, and local stakeholders and focused on:

  • Understanding the causes and impacts of climate change

  • Promoting sustainable practices in homes and communities

  • Encouraging youth involvement in environmental protection

Through these initiatives, CPHD continues to advance its Environmental and Conservation pillar, reinforcing the importance of climate action, ecological preservation, and community engagement in protecting the environment for future generations.
